Product Insights

From the Salopek family orchard in New Mexico's Rio Grande Valley, these sweet-and-hot seasoned pecans deliver a candied sugar shell with a gentle red chile heat that builds only after 3 to 5 pieces — a mild, sweet-forward kick rather than real fire. Priced at $6.95 for a 4-ounce bag (or $1.39 per ounce in the 12-jar bundle, undercutting regional rivals), they work as a snack, salad topper, dessert garnish, cheese-board companion, and holiday gift that freezes for 6+ months. Buyers rate them 4.6 stars, but the main tradeoffs are the delayed, never-genuinely-hot heat and occasional reports of mushy rather than crunchy texture. Currently out of stock, with fresh crop typically arriving in December after the fall harvest and curing.

Seasoned Pecans

Linda VAN DAM

These are totally addictive! I have to hide them from myself so I won't eat too many at a time. Very nicely seasoned!

Brinda Miller

Great tasting Pecans

Love the sweet & hot pecans

Sweet but not hot pecans

Annabelle Austin

I was disappointed in the pecans I received. There were more pieces of candy coating than pecans. In addition everything was very sweet with not even a hint of heat. I hope this was an anomoly rather than the norm because I was expecting a good punch of heat along with the sweet flavor. What I received tasted no different than other candied pecans I've bought.

These are the best sweet and hot pecans

Lincoln Campbell

These are amazing. I visited Las Cruces a little over a year ago now and tried these while I was there. Had to buy some for my family back home. The flavor is amazing, the spice is just enough to know it's there, not overwhelming.

Yum!

Jody DeYarman

These are great for snacking on when you have that craving for just a little something. It the prefect blend of sweet and spice.

A little spice

James Radford

Very good and not overpowering. Though do not be fooled after 3 to 5 of these beauties the heat starts to build.

Just ok

Gloria A

Pecans were just ok for me. They could have used more heat and sweet. I was expecting to be blown away but sadly, I make them better do I won’t buy these again.

I bought the 16 oz. package as a 2020 Christmas gift for my parents. They loved them - thought these sweet hot pecans tasted wonderful. Was a great mix of sweet and hot. I also bought for them the green chile pecans, red chile pecans, praline pecans, red chile pistachios and green chile pistachios. They very much enjoyed all of them but were not sure if they liked the green or red versions better. I plan to buy these again - hopefully for myself this time...
