Randy's salsa had absolutely no heat and no bite. But I ended up browning some beef fajita meat and dropped that whole jar in it. I added a little heat to it but, because this jar had alot of veg to it and the chunks were so big it worked out well. I cooked it until the meat was tender. Next time please add a Sandia to the jar. I'm anxious to try papa's salsa next and the pasta sauces.

I recently purchased the "Hatch Randy's Salsa Hot" and was disappointed. The onion peel was not removed, making it difficult to eat. The taste and heat level was fine but, unfortunately it was tough. Having just finished the Jalapeño Salsa from my previous order, we decided to try Randy's Salsa from my recent order. I realize tastes vary from person to person and heat levels can vary from chile to chile and from year to year but for us, the ratio of onions to chilis was way off in Randy's Salsa. Too many large pieces of onion and too few pieces of chilis. Plus, it was supposed to be "Hot" and the spiciness, for our taste, just isn't there. Others may like having all the onion. in their salsa, but for us we we were expecting more pieces of spicy hatch chilies from Fresh Chile.

    I ordered several jars of these as well. The medium green chilies are pretty good, but a little bland. I also ordered a jar of the red and green hot Sandia chile version, and that was much more flavorful. There's also an extra hot Matador version that I'd like to try. If you're looking for a little more flavor, they also offer salsas, but they obviously won't be as thick. I ordered a red enchilada sauce that I haven't tried yet. I would definitely recommend the red and green mixed chile version to anyone who's looking for something more pepper-forward in flavor and thicker than salsa.
